(Los Angeles) – On Monday, Assembly Member Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles) will help distribute free groceries to residents in Boyle Heights in partnership with the Weingart East Los Angeles (WELA) YMCA and Chefs to End Hunger.

WHY:
Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many residents are struggling to take care of their basic needs, especially food. In response, WELA YMCA and Chefs to End Hunger have organized an event to distribute free groceries to Boyle Heights residents. Assembly Member Santiago will attend the event and help assemble and distribute boxes of groceries.
Assemblymember Miguel Santiago is the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Communications and Conveyance and Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on Los Angeles County Homelessness. He also sits on the Assembly Committees on Public Safety, Health, Higher Education and Utilities and Energy. He represents the 53rd District composed of the cities of Los Angeles, Huntington Park, and Vernon.
