Affordable Housing Bill AB 1551 Passes the Housing and Local Government Committees

(Sacramento, CA) Following the passage of AB 1551 (extends incentives for developers to build affordable housing) through the Housing and Local Government committees, AB 1551’s author Assembly Member Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles) released the following statement:

“With AB 1551, we can build more affordable housing and help Californians struggling to afford rent,” said Assembly Member Miguel Santiago.

“By extending incentives such as density bonuses which encourage developers to build affordable housing, we can help make California a more affordable place to live and help those on the brink of homelessness. Let’s get this done!”

Assembly Member Miguel Santiago is the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Governmental Organization and the Assembly Select Committee on Los Angeles County Homelessness. He represents the 53rd District composed of the cities of Los Angeles, Huntington Park, and Vernon.
