Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas Releases Statement on Assembly Bill 71
Sacramento -Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee Chair Sebastian Ridley-Thomas (D-Los Angeles) released the following statement on Assembly Bill 71:
"Assembly Bill 71 is a step in the right direction, but more must be done to address California's housing crisis. There are many segments of our society, including Millennials, who find themselves frozen out of the housing market. We, as a state, must do all we can to address this inequity. New homeownership not only benefits first time homebuyers, but works to stabilize local property tax revenues as well. As AB 71 progresses through the legislative process, I am committed to ensuring that homeownership becomes an attainable goal for all. I look forward to working with Assemblymember Chiu and other Members of the Legislature to find solutions that work for California."
