City of Los Angeles Opens Application for Second Round of Rent Relief Funds

(Los Angeles, CA) – Today, the City of Los Angeles in partnership with the state of California has reopened its application for rent relief funds. Tenants who have fallen behind on rent or other payments to their landlord, due to financial hardship caused by the pandemic, are now able to apply for rent relief in the City of Los Angeles.

(Sacramento, CA) – Today, Assembly Members Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles), Jesse Gabriel (D-Woodland Hills), Senator Bob Hertzberg (D-Van Nuys) and Stephen Sass, founder of the Breed Street Shul Project, hosted a press conference to announce the $14.9 million in funding to revitalize the historic Breed Street Shul (Shul) included in this year’s State Budget.

Universal Broadband Bill Signed Today

“The time for universal high-speed internet is right now,” said Assembly Member Miguel Santiago. “The pandemic exposed the massive divide between those who have computers and internet, and those who do not. To close this divide, we must deliver a monumental investment in public broadband infrastructure by bringing access to affordable high-speed internet to underserved communities in an equitable manner.
