Assemblywoman Kamlager-Dove Supports Construction of New Clippers Arena
(Inglewood, CA) - Assemblywoman Sydney K. Kamlager-Dove (D-Los Angeles) joined LA Clippers Chairman Steve Ballmer, Inglewood City leaders and area community and labor leaders to rally support behind her bill (Assembly Bill 987) that would bring economic development and NBA basketball back to the community. “I have only been in office a few weeks, and this is the first bill that has the potential to put tens of thousands of jobs in my district,” said Assemblywoman Kamlager-Dove. “This is a jobs package- it’s about bringing economic opportunities to 31 percent of my district by creating full time permanent construction and operational jobs and boosting revenue at existing establishments.” AB 987 will ensure the new Inglewood Basketball and Entertainment Center Project, also known as the new Clippers Arena, meets strict environmental standards while enhancing local services and protecting vital community interests.
