Children under 19 years old who meet the income requirements for Medi-Cal are eligible for full-scope benefits no matter what!
Previously, undocumented immigrants who met all other Medi-Cal requirements may have qualified for limited or restricted scope Medi-Cal coverage. Now, however, an estimated 170,000undocumented immigrant children will qualify for full medical care; vision exams; dental care; substance abuse treatment; mental health services; and other Medi-Cal benefits, as long as they meet the income requirements.
Who is eligible?
All children under 19 years of age who are eligible for Medi-Cal even if they are unable to establish satisfactory immigration status are now eligible for full-scope benefits.
How do I enroll?
You can enroll in person at your local County Social Services Office, online with Covered California, or by mail with the Medi-Cal Single Streamlined Application provided in English and other languages.
