Assembly Majority Whip, Miguel Santiago, Announces Summer Movie Night & Free Backpack Giveaway

(Los Angeles, CA) Earlier today, the Majority Whip of the California State Assembly, Miguel Santiago (D-Downtown Los Angeles), announced an upcoming free outdoor community movie screening of Kung Fu Panda 3 on August 13th.

The event, which is being held in partnership with the Hollenbeck Police Department Volunteer Program and the Office of Los Angeles City Councilmember Jose Huizar, will provide an opportunity for community members to meet and discuss legislative issues with their local and state representatives. There will also be a free backpack giveaway to the first 500 kids in attendance.

"I look forward to rounding out the summer on a fun evening with my family and the community, and I am thrilled that we’re going to be able to help prepare some children as they head back to school,” said Assemblymember Santiago. 

The event will be taking place on Saturday, August 13th at 7:00pm at the Hollenbeck Police Station (2111 E. 1st Street, Los Angeles, CA 90033). Free popcorn and drinks will also be provided (while supplies last).
