Assemblymember Santiago Responds to Governor’s State of the State Address

For immediate release:

Sacramento, CA – Following the Governor’s State of the State address, Assemblymember Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles) released the following statement:

“Here in California, we don’t sweep our problems under the rug and hope no one will notice; we face our challenges head-on. I’ll be working closely with my colleagues and the Governor this year to make sure we’re fighting every day so our students, working families, and Californians experiencing homelessness can thrive in this great state. Governor Newsom pulled no punches in his speech this morning, and we’re going to make sure he knows we in the legislature won’t either.”

Assemblymember Miguel Santiago is the Chair of the Assembly’s Communications and Conveyance Committee, and a member of both the Assembly Public Safety Committee and the California Latino Legislative Caucus. He represents the 53rd District composed of the cities of Los Angeles, Huntington Park, and Vernon.
