Governor Newsom and Legislative Leaders Announce Reproductive Freedom Plan and Assembly Member Santiago Responds

(Sacramento, CA) – Following the call from Governor Newsom, Senate President pro Tempore Atkins and Assembly Speaker Rendon for a state constitutional amendment to protect Roe v. Wade, Assembly Member Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles) released the following statement:

“California at all costs must remain a safe place for reproductive freedom, period,” said Assembly Member Miguel Santiago. “Putting reproductive freedom into our state constitution will provide strong protections for the right to choose.

California will stand strong! Governor Newsom, Senate President pro Tempore Atkins and Assembly Speaker Rendon are standing California strong! Let’s all be California strong and let’s do this!”

Assembly Member Miguel Santiago is the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Governmental Organization and the Assembly Select Committee on Los Angeles County Homelessness. He represents the 53rd District composed of the cities of Los Angeles, Huntington Park, and Vernon.
