May Revise Announced and Assembly Member Santiago Responds

(Sacramento, CA) –Following the release of Governor Newsom’s “May Revision” budget proposal, Assembly Member Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles) released the following statement:

“For years, we fought tooth and nail to invest in basic essentials that help ALL Californians of ALL backgrounds and income levels. We know that the state’s current budget challenges are significant and will require difficult decisions,” said Assembly Member Santiago. “I am encouraged that the Governor’s May Revision is forward-looking and improves budget options in the future, but we must fight to protect critical investments that help all Californians weather the challenges of everyday life, such as rising rents, food insecurity, and other core health and human services programs.”

Assembly Member Miguel Santiago is the Assistant Assembly Majority Leader.
