(Sacramento, CA) – Yesterday, Assembly Member Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles) responded to the missing full investment for Food4All and delayed implementation timeline for food assistance for Californians ages 55 and older to October 2027 in the May Revise. A representative of Senator Melissa Hurtado (D-Bakersfield), Assembly Member Juan Carrillo (D-Palmdale), and Assembly Member Liz Ortega (D-Hayward) joined him, urging support for AB 311, The Food 4 All Act.
“Enough is enough,” said Assembly Member Santiago. “To me, in California, it makes no sense that the people who pick some of the food that we eat, can't afford to eat the food they pick. Postponing Food4All is unjust - All Californians should have access to food assistance if and when they need it.”
