Recently, I was honored to join Senate President Pro Tempore Kevin de Leon and others at a press conference in my district to announce the introduction of a series of measures designed to combat homelessness in California.
As the State Assemblymember representing Skid Row, and as a resident of Downtown, I regularly see the gravest impacts that rising prices, stagnant incomes, and an often underfunded safety net have had on our neighbors.
In concert with Pro Tem de Leon's No Place Like Home initiative, I plan to roll out several bills of my own on the subject of homelessness and affordable housing in the coming weeks.
